After this awesome achievement, Ellie was awarded an <strong>MBE<\/strong> by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.natgeokids.com\/au\/discover\/history\/monarchy\/facts-about-the-queen-elizabeth-ii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Queen<\/a> &#8211; and won <strong>BBC&#8217;s Young Sports Personality of the Year<\/strong>, too! She&#8217;s going for glory again in Tokyo this year &#8211; <em>yay!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>FUN FACT! <\/p><p>Paralympic stars have a range of disabilities, and so to make it fair, the athletes are given different &#8216;classifications&#8217; for their sports. She made her Paralympic debut in <strong>2016<\/strong>, speeding off with <strong>three medals<\/strong> for Team GB! This year she&#8217;s hoping to beat her team-mate <strong>&#8216;Hurricane&#8217; Hannah Cockcroft<\/strong> (who has<strong> five Paralympic gold medals<\/strong>) in their sport of <strong>T34 100m and 800m<\/strong>. Despite being just <strong>23 years old<\/strong>, Cody is now <strong>co-captain<\/strong> of the <strong>New Zealand &#8216;Wheel Blacks&#8217; Paralympic rugby team<\/strong>. This <strong>22-year-old <\/strong>Paralympic athlete is heading to Tokyo from <strong>Todmorden<\/strong> in northern <strong>England<\/strong> for her <strong>Paralympic debut<\/strong>. <em>Go Megan! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>FUN FACT!<\/p><p>The &#8216;para&#8217; in &#8216;Paralympic Games&#8217; means parallel! Now, he&#8217;s returning to <strong>Team Australia&#8217;s <\/strong>list of Paralympic athletes in the hope of besting the <strong>sixth place<\/strong> he received last time. Can he splash<em> <\/em>past the opposition and into a <strong>top spot<\/strong>? <em>We hope so &#8211; good luck Dylan! <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>FUN FACT!<\/p><p>Originally, only wheelchair athletes competed in the Paralympic Games (or Stoke Mandeville Games for wheelchair athletes, as they were known then!). That&#8217;s pretty remarkable for a <strong>14-year-old<\/strong>! Fast forward five years and <strong>19-year-old <\/strong>Nicole, who has a form of <strong>dwarfism<\/strong>, is aiming to reach the finals again in Tokyo. Hopefully this time she&#8217;ll head home with a <strong>medal<\/strong>! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>FUN FACT!<\/p><p>Swimmer Trischa Zorn from the USA has won the most medals of any Paralympic athlete.
