Scientists have created a sweet solution for those of us who aren\u2019t keen on eating our greens; a device that tricks our tastebuds<\/strong> into thinking we\u2019re eating something else.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"flavour<\/a><\/p>\n

The flavour-faking device could make even bland food taste delicious!<\/em><\/p>\n

The sweet<\/em> piece of tech, dubbed the \u2018Taste Buddy<\/strong>\u2019, works by heating up the \u2018sweet channel<\/strong>\u2019 in our tongue. When the channel is heated, it tells the brain<\/strong> that we\u2019re tasting something sweet – thus hoodwinking our tastebuds!<\/span><\/p>\n

The hope is that the tasty invention will help people to eat more healthily<\/strong>, while still enjoying the flavours of the foods they love. Just imagine, broccoli that tastes like brownies!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Professor Adrian Cheok – the lead scientist on the project – and his family put the invention to the test!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s even thought that it could help developing countries <\/strong>that have limited access to sugar due to high costs and drought<\/strong> \u2014 now that\u2019s what we call sweet science.<\/span><\/p>\n

It could be 20 years<\/strong> before the gadget hits the high street, but you can test prototypes of the device for yourself at The Big Bang Fair 2017<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0on the 15-18 March in Birmingham\u00a0\u2014 the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths for kids who love learning, just like you!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
