Some of these star patterns are called <strong>constellations<\/strong>. They help <strong>astronomers <\/strong>divide the night sky into sections, so we know what\u2019s what in the <strong>vastness of space<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things you see in the sky can vary depending on the <strong>time of year <\/strong>and <strong>where in the world<\/strong> you are. It\u2019s called <strong>The Plough<\/strong> because <strong>Ancient Greeks<\/strong> thought it looked like an <strong>old-fashioned plough <\/strong>with a <strong>handle and blade<\/strong>. Pronounced \u201cSIG-NUHS,\u201d &#8216;Cygnus&#8217; is the <strong>Latin name<\/strong> for swan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Stargazer tip: <\/strong>Look for <strong>three bright stars<\/strong> in a <strong>triangle shape<\/strong>! Epic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Stargazer tip: <\/strong>Look for the \u2018<strong>Great Square of Pegasus<\/strong>\u2019 \u2013 a distorted square that forms the body of the <strong>winged horse<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Top tips for stargazers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2013 For an awesome stargazing adventure, choose a <strong>clear, cloud-free evening<\/strong>. Even better, try to time it when the <strong>Moon<\/strong> is at its <strong>gibbous<\/strong> or <strong>crescent<\/strong> phase.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 <strong>Light pollution<\/strong> can <strong>dim<\/strong> the brilliance of the night sky. So seek out areas <strong>far from the glare of street lamps<\/strong> and <strong>car headlights<\/strong>. If you <strong>don\u2019t like the dark<\/strong>, use a<strong> red light<\/strong> to help you see as that won\u2019t spoil your <strong>night vision<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 Knowing your <strong>directions<\/strong> (<strong>north<\/strong>, <strong>south<\/strong>, <strong>east<\/strong> and <strong>west<\/strong>) will help you navigate the night sky like a pro. Trust us \u2013 you\u2019ll find it a lot easier to<strong> locate<\/strong> the wonders of the night sky if you know your way around\u2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2013 Make sure you <strong>pack everything you need<\/strong>! Here are some ideas: <strong>binoculars<\/strong>, a <strong>telescope<\/strong>, a <strong>blanket<\/strong> or<strong> jumper<\/strong> to keep you warm, plus a <strong>camping chair<\/strong> for longer stays under the stars.
