What is The Eurekas<\/a>?<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Eurekas<\/a><\/em><\/strong> is an annual physics competition<\/strong> for students aged 11-16<\/strong> in the United Kingdom<\/strong> and Ireland<\/strong>. It has been thought up by the Institute of Physics<\/a><\/em><\/strong> to get more people interested in doing physics after they turn 16. Cool, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether you\u2019re an aspiring musician<\/strong>, artist<\/strong>, chef<\/strong> or footballer<\/strong>, The Eurekas are looking for original ideas<\/strong> that harness creativity<\/strong> and inspire the senses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, they had some out-of-this-world<\/strong>, awe-inspiring<\/strong>, game-changing<\/strong> and mind-boggling<\/strong> entries, from the magic behind the Aurora Borealis <\/strong>to the mystery behind the Atom!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, they have a brand new challenge <\/strong>with bigger prizes <\/strong>and lots of ways to get involved<\/strong>. They’re challenging entrants to answer the question<\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can physics help make your home ready for the future?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An inspiring judging panel <\/strong>will pick the most original<\/strong> and creative<\/strong> entries, with a number of prizes<\/strong> up for grabs for students <\/strong>and their schools<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

How to get involved<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your entry could be a video<\/strong>, an audio recording<\/strong>, a poem<\/strong>, a piece of art<\/strong>, whatever showcases your talents the best<\/strong>. Ask a parent, carer or teacher to submit your entry on The Eurekas<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>website. And remember, you’ll need a short note explaining your submission <\/strong>too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition closes on 8 June 2026<\/strong>. What will you<\/strong> come up with?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prizes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The winning entry<\/strong> will receive a \u00a31,000\/\u20ac1,200 cash prize<\/strong>. The winner\u2019s school will be rewarded for their support by receiving a \u00a3250\/\u20ac300 voucher<\/strong> to go towards school equipment<\/strong>. Epic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only that, but the two runners-up<\/strong> will receive \u00a3500\/\u20ac600 each<\/strong>. Plus, The Eurekas<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>will also be recognising individual<\/strong> excellence for each age between 11-16<\/strong>, and the best 6 entries will receive \u00a3250\/\u20ac300 each<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
