Meet Rhea, last year\u2019s champion!<\/span><\/h1>\n

Rhea came to last year\u2019s open day and went on to take home the Child Genius trophy! We caught up with her to find out what it”s like to be a junior mastermind…<\/span><\/p>\n

NG KiDS: Hi Rhea, congratulations on your Child Genius win! How does it feel to be the brightest kid in the UK?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Rhea: <\/strong>Thank you so much! Winning the competition has been, so far, the greatest achievement of my life. I genuinely enjoy learning new things so it was actually a pleasure to participate and because I approached the whole process as if it were a game, I had a ton of fun as well. I wish I could do it again!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Has winning the competition opened any doors for you?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Rhea: <\/strong>Winning the competition has given me loads of opportunities to promote my love of learning. I\u2019ve done a lot of TV, radio and print interviews. What I\u2019m most excited about though, is having launched my own blog where I share tips for learning. Check it out at rheachildgenius.com<\/span><\/a> and let me know what you think!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your favourite school subject, and why?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Maths has always been my favourite subject because I like the satisfaction of there almost always being just one correct answer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tell us a cool fact\u2026<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A reindeer\u2019s eyes (specifically, a layer of tissue behind the retina) change colour from gold in the summer to blue in the winter. Cool, right?!<\/span><\/p>\n

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I would be a giraffe. They\u2019re tall, which I really wish I were. Also they\u2019re herbivores and I am a vegetarian. They also seem so graceful to me, and as a dancer, I really love that.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cChild Genius is a great experience. I got to meet other children\u00a0who had similar mindsets and a great sense of competition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Georgia<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cA unique\u00a0experience, a once in a lifetime opportunity. I found several friends that have similar interests that I wouldn”t have made in my normal life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The duo’s parents, Claire and Kevin<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOriginally we were reluctant to do it – however, as a family, we had so much fun and had such novel experiences that I would heartily recommend other families to do it and enjoy the moment.<\/p>\n

“We learnt a lot about ourselves and our children and they have grown in confidence as a result of this competition.<\/p>\n

“We”ve stayed in touch with some of the other families and Stephen and Georgia have made some great friends.\u201d<\/p>\n
