Imagine a college where creativity, imagination and magic are all on the timetable…<\/strong><\/p>\n

It might sound like an idea plucked out of a J.K. Rowling book but such a place really does<\/em> exist!<\/p>\n

The College of Magic <\/strong>in Cape Town<\/strong>, South Africa<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is, well, exactly what you’d imagine! It’s a safe place where children can learn magical skills that they don’t teach you in school.<\/p>\n

From magic<\/strong> to mime <\/strong>to\u00a0puppetry<\/strong> and\u00a0juggling<\/strong>, kids that attend the college learn to become spectacular masters of disguise, illusion and trickery!<\/p>\n

13 year-old Sesona Gagana, from\u00a0Khayelitsha, is a dab hand at juggling!<\/em><\/p>\n

But that’s not all, because they’ll also learn important life skills that help them to grow into incredible people.<\/p>\n

Plus, the talents they learn at the college can apply to any job that they decide to do when they grow up – not just<\/em> becoming a wizard!<\/p>\n

Sadly, 57%<\/strong> of South Africa’s population live in poverty<\/strong> and over a million children have lost a parent<\/strong> to HIV or AIDS.\u00a01.5 million children don’t even have access to clean drinking water<\/strong> and toilets – things that we take for granted.<\/p>\n

With over 200 students and over 40 voluntary staff members, the College of Magic gives many South African kids the chance of a brighter future.<\/p>\n
