Natural History Museum\u2019s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is one of the world\u2019s top wildlife photography honours \u2013 it\u2019s kind of like the Oscars™ of the photography world!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if you\u2019re a budding young photographer<\/strong> who loves wildlife, get out into nature and take some sensational snaps<\/strong>! Your images can cover any aspect of wildlife and the natural world<\/strong> \u2013 from creepy crawlies and terrific trees to interesting habitats and urban wildlife. This year’s competition is the 60th edition<\/strong> so it’s extra special!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vidyun R Hebbar – Dome home<\/em><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Vidyun R Hebbar <\/strong>scooped the prize in 2021, aged 12<\/strong>. He snapped his spooky winning entry, Dome home<\/strong> <\/em>(pictured below) in a theme park <\/strong>near his home in India<\/strong>. He found an occupied spider\u2019s web<\/strong> in a gap in a wall<\/strong> and took the snap just as a tuk-tuk vehicle passed by<\/strong>, creating a cool colourful backdrop<\/strong>. Awesome!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vidyun says:<\/p>\n“I took this picture while I was exploring my busy city, a walkable distance from my house! This world of tiny creatures is fascinating \u2013 even your own neighbourhood can take you to Wildlife Photographer of the Year!”<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Katanyou Wuttichaitanakorn – The beauty of baleen<\/em><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Katanyou<\/strong> Wuttichaitanakorn<\/strong> won the prize in 2022, aged 16. He took his close-up<\/strong> winning entry, The beauty of baleen <\/em><\/strong>(pictured below), <\/em><\/strong>from a tour boat<\/strong> <\/em>in Thailand. Baleen<\/strong> is a comb-like structure<\/strong> found in the mouths of some whales<\/strong> that they use to capture<\/strong> and filter small organisms<\/strong> from the water. <\/em>Unbaleen<\/em>able!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
