What is Radley College?

Located in Oxfordshire, Radley College is a leading traditional full boarding school. It has been helping boys aged 13 to 18 to reach their full potential throughout its storied 178-year history, allowing them to achieve some of the best exam results in Britain. As recently as 2024, it was awarded Tatler’s Best Public School!

Alongside this, Radley is celebrated for its co-curricular successes, giving boys a platform to indulge in their passions on stage, in sports, in robotics, in music and beyond.

Or, if they’re passionate about animals, Radley College’s biology department is home to ‘Radley Zoo’, a collection of animals that help support students’ learning. The college also has a countryside centre, which provides students with practical hands-on experience of animal husbandry and includes sheep, chickens and beagles.

What is the Radley Keys Award?

The Radley Keys Award is a fee-free bursary designed for families who wouldn’t usually consider a leading independent boarding school. Aimed at boys currently attending state school, following means testing, families can apply while their son is in Year 6. 

The assessment process has been specially designed to recognise potential, not just prior grades, so if your son is engaged and engaging, sparky, creative and resilient, the Radley Keys Award could help unlock their full potential. They are looking for boys who make the most of every opportunity and have a positive impact on those around them!

Concerned about hidden costs?

The Radley Keys Award truly means all fees are covered — from accommodation to food —plus essentials like uniform, trips, music or drama lessons and public exam fees. There’s even help placing boys into an independent prep school, with full funding, for Years 7 and 8, before they join Radley in Year 9.
