The BFG

Calling all Chiddlers! Discover the whoppsy-whiffling

new stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The BFG…

Don’t miss this unforgettable adventure at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, from 25 Nov 2025 to 31 Jan 2026.

WHAT’S THE STORY?

One extraordinary night, a young orphan named Sophie is snatched by a giant and taken far away to Giant Country. There, she discovers that human-eating giants are guzzling ‘norphans’ across the world. But luckily for Sophie, her giant is VERY different. Known as the BFG (or Big Friendly Giant), this dream-catching, snozzcumber-muncher is a gentle soul. He speaks his own quirky language, Gobblefunk and, most importantly, refuses to eat human beans. Phew!

While other giants terrorise the world, the BFG sparks Sophie’s imagination, and together they dream up a daring plan to save children from giants everywhere

Giggly Gobblefunk!

Author Roald Dahl dreamed up some wonderful words for the BFG to speak. Here are a few of our faves

Competition time!

One lucky reader will WIN four tickets to see the whoppsy-whiffling new stage production of The BFG at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon, PLUS a delicious pre-theatre meal at the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Rooftop Restaurant. Wow!
