Join National Geographic Kids as we celebrate the National Year of Reading 2026!

This new government campaign is designed to tackle the sharp decline in youngsters reading for pleasure. It’s asking people to ‘Go All In’ on their passions, with the idea that reading can be a powerful way to unlock more of what you already love.

Research shows that when children read less, their confidence, imagination and learning take a hit as well. Reading helps children focus, express themselves and develop their curiosity. ‘If you’re into it, read into it,’ goes the campaign tagline.

This decorative image shows kids gathered around a magazine they're all reading. Text reads: If you're into it, read into it. Discover more at goallin.org.uk

The excellent news is that as a Nat Geo Kids fan, your young explorer is already ‘into it’. They’re an avid reader who’s expanding their knowledge about wildlife and the planet through the magazine, delighting in weird and wacky facts about our wonderful world, and connecting with others through their passions.

But this year, we want to give our readers the opportunity and encouragement to do even more reading around the subjects they love. That’s why we’re asking National Geographic Kids readers to sign up for the chance to become book reviewers!

If your reader would like to take part, fill in the form below to sign up. Tell us what they’re into and we could send them a brand-new fact or fiction book to review! A selection of reviews will be published in the magazine or online throughout the year.

Please note that this opportunity is only open to National Geographic Kids subscribers. Click here to find out more about our subscriptions.
