The Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is one of the world’s top wildlife photography honours – it’s kind of like the Oscars™ of the photography world!

So, if you love the great outdoors and have a keen eye for spotting the most captivating moments in nature, then this is the competition for you! Your images can cover any aspect of the natural world – from creepy crawlies and terrific treesto interesting habitats and urban wildlife.

How to enter

Simply head to nhm.ac.uk/wpycomp to find out more and enter by 4 December! You can submit up to TEN photos in one of these three age groups: 10 years and under, 11–14 years and 15–17 years.

Entry is free! The winner of each age category will be considered for the Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year title.

 

 

The prize

The overall Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year will win: £1,500, a trophy, a personalised certificate, a two-day masterclass with a professional photographer, and a feature article in the Natural History Museum’s WILD WORLD magazine.

The Young category winners will win: £500, a personalised certificate, a trip to London for the awards ceremony, and your photograph published in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Portfolio book.

The Young runners-up will win: £150 and a personalised certificate, your photograph published in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Portfolio book, and an invitation to the awards ceremony in London.

The Young category highly commended entries will win: a personalised certificate, your photograph published in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Portfolio book, and an invitation to the awards ceremony in London.
