After a family tragedy, kung fu prodigy Li Fong and his mum move from Beijing, China, to New York City in the USA, hoping for a fresh start. But beginning a new life isn’t easy – and somehow trouble always seems to find Li!
When a new friend needs help, Li enters a karate competition – but his skills alone aren’t enough to triumph. So with help from his teacher, Mr. Han, and the original Karate Kid, Li learns to combine two powerful styles – karate and kung fu – for the ultimate martial arts showdown!

MASTER THE ART
Try these moves and find out if you’ve got the skills to be a future martial arts master!
1. SIDE KICK
STEP 1 – TURN YOUR FOOT
Twist your standing foot so your toes point backwards – this helps your hips move and makes your kick strong!
STEP 2 – LIFT YOUR KNEE HIGH
Start by lifting your knee to waist height and keep it there while you kick. This helps the kick go straight and keeps you safe.
STEP 3 – USE YOUR HIPS AND TUMMY
Push off your foot and use your hips and tummy muscles to make your kick powerful!

2. FRONT STANCE
STEP 1 – START IN A STRONG STANCE
Stand with one foot in front and the other foot behind you. Make sure your weight is forward, like you’re ready to move!
STEP 2 – OPEN YOUR FRONT HAND
Keep your front hand open and facing out, like you’re getting ready to stop something or block.
STEP 3 CHAMBER YOUR BACK HAND
Keep your back hand close to your body, ready to defend or strike. This is the hand you’ll use to follow up with an epic move!

3. GUARDED FIST-UP POSE
STEP 1 – PREPARE
Stand tall with your front fist up, ready to block or punch. Your back hand should be by your waist, ready to move.
STEP 2 – STAY FOCUSED
Keep your posture strong and balanced. Be like a superhero getting ready for action!
STEP 3- BE READY
This move is important because it helps you stay calm and ready for whatever comes next!
